Swedish producer Helax debuts with ghostly club track “Tell Me, Tell Me”

Berlin-via-Uppsala producer Helax makes a remarkable entrance onto the electronic scene with his debut solo EP, Tell Me, Tell Me.

A versatile producer known for his work with dream-pop duo The Ghost of Helags and indie-electro pair Brynäs, Helax has now released his first solo EP, Tell Me, Tell Me. Published via Misty Music Stockholm, the 4-track project was recorded in a cheap hotel room located on Reeperbahn, the main avenue of Hamburg’s red-light district. From the ghostly vocals of the opening track “Tell Me, Tell Me” to the hypnotic bass of the closing gem “Are We Hiding Ourselves From Love?” (are we, by the way?), this club-oriented collection brims with melancholy. Here, Helax draws from the 90s rave and indie scenes, as he combines raw club arrangements and moody yet captivating melodies. On the fringes of huge festivals and productions, the Swedish artist offers another perspective on club culture, deep, meditative, but just as thrilling and infectious.
