Electronical Reeds – Y3ARS Sampler Part 1 [November 8th]

The Brussels based label Electronical Reeds celebrates its third birthday with a special album release containing 13 exclusive tracks from the imprint’s artist roster. This is an album sampler with five tracks showcasing the label’s view on electronic music.

The german duo Pazul & Deepling kicks of this release with ”Catalunya”. A moody deep house track with a lot of atmosphere and an overall melancholic feel. During the breakdown we are treated with smooth piano melodies and guitar chords, samples of pouring rain and some chopped filtered vocals.

Next up is ”Keyenveld” by TMP, a producer based in the label’s home town of Brussels. He describes his music as ”strongly influenced by african sounds from Mali and Morocco”, and this is also reflected in this production. Tribal like percussions, shorts synth stabs and deep vocal samples puts this track somewhere between house, tribal and techno. Very danceable!

Third track is from french producer Max Duke together with belgian singer Mat Vega. The track ”Meet you” is a cozy house production centered around the soft and high pitched vocals from Mat Vega together with a repetitive piano melody. After listening to this track I definately want to hear more tracks with Mat singing!

Time for track number 4, and for some uplifting house music. Belgian producer O.D. Math has made an energetic and feel good house track with playful percussions, a funky bassline and an overall good vibe. Also one for the dance floor!

Last, but not least, is the track ”In my head” by O-Live, also based in Belgium. He decreases the tempo compared to the previous tracks, but starts of on a more agressive path with fierce basslines and raw synths. After a while though, this affair gets more melodic with lush vocal samples and soft pads. Good one!

This sampler is a great one, and makes you want to check out the full album when released. Well done Electronical Reeds!
