The track was written by Oliver Wickham, Crimsen and Feyln during the last winter in Toronto and is about how long the winters can feel in Canada. Summer is a very magical time here because we can’t have outdoor festivals and events year-round, and when it finally comes along, we always try to make the most of it. But during those long winter months, the weather in Toronto can be incredibly overcast and cold.
You’re hearing lyrics about cold grey skies over the music you’d expect to hear outside in the heat of the summer. I hope the juxtaposition will encourage listeners to live in the moment and appreciate what they have, or at least give them some hope if they’re feeling down.
