Celebrated producer THE ILLUSTRATED MAN has joined forces with Chicago house legend Robert Owens for the hypnotic new single ‘The Heart of Fire’, released on 29 May 2026 via ILINX Records. The track serves as the second single taken from THE ILLUSTRATED MAN’s forthcoming debut album, The Skin Of Time, arriving on 12 June 2026. Already gaining recognition across the global electronic scene, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN has earned support from respected names including Adriatique, Bedouin, Township Rebellion, Richie Hawtin, and Joris Voorn, while his productions have also found airplay on BBC Radio 1 and Ibiza Global Radio.
Born in Yerevan, Armenia and now based in Dubai, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN approaches electronic music as an immersive storytelling experience shaped by cinema, visual art, and literary science fiction. Inspired by Ray Bradbury’s The Illustrated Man, the project explores evolving narratives through sound, crafting productions filled with atmosphere, tension, and emotional depth. On ‘The Heart of Fire’, that cinematic approach merges seamlessly with Robert Owens’ unmistakable vocal presence. Owens, a defining voice of the late-’80s Chicago house movement, delivers a soulful and commanding performance over rich percussion and deep hypnotic grooves before the track unexpectedly shifts into an acid-fuelled breakdown driven by a squelching Roland TB-303 bassline.
Blending timeless house influences with modern underground production, ‘The Heart of Fire’ channels the spirit of pioneers such as 808 State, Joey Beltram, and Phuture while maintaining a distinctly forward-thinking edge.
