South African Afro-house heavyweight Prince Kaybee has announced his signing to PLAYY. Records, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career alongside the release of his latest single, ‘Heno Babayo’. The track serves as the first release on the imprint from the multi-platinum producer, who has spent the past decade establishing himself as one of the country’s most influential electronic music exports. 

Speaking on the release, Kaybee described ‘Heno Babayo’ as “a symbol of resilience.” He explained that the song reflects the experience of overcoming hardship, pushing through adversity, and holding onto hope despite life’s challenges

Since breaking through after winning the 2015 Masters of Spin competition, Prince Kaybee has built an impressive catalogue that includes chart-topping records such as ‘Club Controller’, ‘Banomoya’, and ‘Uwrongo’. His work has earned multiple South African Music Awards, Metro FM Music Awards, and international recognition, while collaborations with artists including Lady Zamar, Busiswa, Shimza, Black Motion, and Ami Faku have helped cement his place at the forefront of modern African dance music.

Rooted in South Africa’s rich Afro-house traditions, ‘Heno Babayo’ blends tropical textures, tribal percussion, and deep rolling basslines into a hypnotic groove. Jungle-inspired rhythms provide a driving pulse throughout, while atmospheric vocal layers add depth and emotion to the production. The arrangement unfolds steadily, balancing moments of tension and release while maintaining its dancefloor-focused energy from start to finish.
