Premiere: Nichols + Roark Return ‘Full Circle’ With Debut On Renaissance

UK progressive house duo Nichols + Roark reach a defining moment in their journey with the release of their ‘Full Circle EP’ — their debut on the legendary Renaissance label. The four-track project marks both a creative milestone and a deeply personal achievement for the duo, whose connection to Renaissance spans more than two decades.

For Nichols + Roark, the title Full Circle carries genuine weight. Over 20 years ago, both artists were regulars at Renaissance events across Nottingham, Ibiza, and London — experiences that helped shape their musical identity and laid the foundation for their sound today. To now release on the same iconic progressive house label represents a powerful return to where their journey first began.

Sonically, the Full Circle EP blends modern progressive house textures with a distinctive indie dance edge. Across four tracks, Nichols + Roark deliver emotive songwriting alongside driving club energy, showcasing both their musical depth and collaborative spirit.

Marcus James, Managing Director at Renaissance, comments:

“Delighted to welcome N+R to the Renaissance family. Catching the contemporary line of the current progressive movement, they represent everything we stand for today — futurism, creativity and edge.”

Opening cuts ‘Superfly’ and ‘Rhythm State’ lean into Nichols + Roark’s indie dance roots, built around rolling basslines, tight percussion, and striking melodic motifs. Both tracks carry an introspective emotional tone, with Rhythm State featuring futuristic, sci-fi-tinged synths, while Superfly revolves around a memorable four-bar loop that anchors its groove.

At the heart of Rhythm State sits the vocal hook “listen to the rhythm” — a subtle counterpoint to today’s fast-moving listening culture, encouraging listeners to stay present and experience the track’s evolving textures. Superfly, meanwhile, captures the sense of freedom that defines unforgettable dancefloor moments.

‘Loyou’, a collaboration with German artist Zoka, introduces a fresh creative direction. The track was born from a connection made during ADE’s Innversions sunrise party at The Loft, blending 80s sci-fi aesthetics with analogue synth textures reminiscent of Stranger Things. Haunting vocal chops and nostalgic synth work combine to create a cinematic and atmospheric standout.

Closing the EP is ‘Blue’ featuring Ro (Rory Hope), reimagined by German producer Ron Flatter. Originally released as a synth-pop exploration of vulnerability and heartbreak, the remix transforms the track into a club-ready progressive house cut while preserving the emotional depth of the original.

The Full Circle EP reflects both Nichols + Roark’s roots and their forward trajectory — a project shaped by collaboration, evolution, and a long-standing connection to the progressive house scene.

Completing the full-circle moment, the duo will also perform alongside Anthony Pappa at the RENAISSANCE x DEEP UNDERGROUND Official Afterparty ‘Rave In A Cave’ in Nottingham this April, where selections from the EP will feature in their set.

A fitting milestone — and a confident new chapter — for Nichols + Roark on Renaissance.
