Hi ManyFew! Welcome to House Music With Love. Where are we speaking to you from today?
Hi! How are you? We are right now in the studio here in London working on new music, so many exciting things coming up.
Can you share more details about your upcoming headline show in Stockholm at Slaktkyrkan on May 22, 2024, and what fans can expect from the evening? How will it differ to your other shows?
The legendary ABBA guitarist Janne Schaffer is the common feature of the show! It’s going to be a night full of energy and loads house music from ourselves where we also are going to play a set with ABBA songs (a ManyFew medley mashup) where Janne is going to show his magical skills on some of the tracks he originally recorded for ABBA.
Also we have a new song together with Janne that we are going to release this spring so it’s going to be a unique show where we are connecting his type of style to our house music thing.
Tickets: ManyFew feat Janne Schaffer + The Night Agent @ Slaktkyrkan
Your collaboration ‘Back To Back’ with Janne Schaffer reached the Top 5 on the UK club chart last year. How did this collaboration come about, and what was the experience like working with a music veteran like Janne Schaffer?
It was great working with Janne Schaffer, we instantly got a vibe when working in the studio together. We started the conversation about around a year ago and went into the studio beginning of last summer and we had a blast! We recorded lots of different takes and wanted to get the best out of it and connected musically with him. So good to see that ‘Back To Back’ received very good feedback from radio (and it still does) and from the UK TOP 5 Club Chart as well.
Since you started around 2017, you’ve achieved significant success, including founding ManyFew Records. How has this journey shaped your musical direction, and what does total creative freedom mean to you as artists?
Thank you! It’s been an amazing journey and we love to have creative freedom and be able to release and make music and share it with people around the globe and see all the reactions from our fans and radio stations etc, that’s what makes us happy and grateful and keeping us so motivated to continue building not only the ManyFew brand but also ManyFew Records. We have a long term goal with ManyFew and so many new goals to achieve along the way which we are excited about!
Your Electronic Heaven Radio show has over 1.5 million monthly listeners. How do you curate the beats for your show, and what do you believe sets your feel-good sound apart in the crowded world of dance music?
The radio show started as a side thing but today it’s a big part of ManyFew. We love radio and have always wanted to do our own show and we are vey proud of the success so far. We have big plans for ‘Electronic Heaven’ and to do club nights with the brand in different cities and countries around the world is something we will do in the future.
2023 was a prolific year for ManyFew with releases like ‘I’ll Do My Best’ and ‘Dancing in The Dark.’ Can you tell us about the inspiration behind these tracks and how they contribute to the evolution of your sound?
Yeah it was a good year thank you! ‘I’ll Do My Best’ was something we started working on end of 2022, after many drafts and testing it several times in the clubs we finished it off and got so many good feedback that we finally decided to release it and the reactions were great. Quite the same thing happened with ‘Dancing In The Dark’ it was an idea we started working on and we sent it out to DJ colleagues and received great reactions back. We love to be varied in how we write songs but we always have like a structure that we use for writing and for our sounds so these tracks have definitely contributed to our sound.
In 2024, ManyFew’s label entered the Hype Charts on Beatport. How does this milestone impact your role as tastemakers in the industry, and what can we expect from ManyFew Records in the future?
Since Beatport is the biggest platform for DJs globally and a main to go for us when buying tracks for playing live in our DJ sets it was a big milestone for us to entering the Hype Charts 🙂 to be one of those labels on the charts that are something we are very proud of and excited about.
Your recent collaboration with Katy Alex, ‘Give It 2 Me,’ is rising through the Music Week’s Upfront Club Chart. Can you share the creative process behind this track and what you believe makes it stand out?
We teamed up with Katy Alex for a session in London and we wrote a couple of songs together that day. The initial song we wrote was ‘Give It 2 Me’ and we all felt it and we’re clicking together in the studio, such a good day it was. One of the other songs is also locked in for a release, make sure to stay tuned.
As you perform around the globe, with notable shows at Ministry of Sound, Ibiza Rocks, and Slakthuset Stockholm, how do you adapt your performances to different venues and audiences, and what excites you most about your upcoming show at Slaktkyrkan?
ManyFew is about bring people together and make people happy through the music. When coming to different countries and places we always put in something special to our sets that are unique and special for that particular place or venue so people can relate to it but we always make sure to do our own thing.
What is next for ManyFew, and do you have any last thoughts or mentions for our readers?
Thank you everyone for listening to our music we really appreciate everyone one of you! We are so excited for the future and we’ll be announcing more tour dates soon, many more releases coming up on our label as well as other exciting stuff so make sure to keep an eye out on our social media.
