Hello INAMAR, welcome to House Music With Love! Where are we speaking to you from today?
Hi House Music With Love! I’m thrilled about this interview opportunity. Currently, I’m in my hometown Lugano, situated in the Italian part of Switzerland.
For those who are unfamiliar with you, can you introduce yourself?
My real name is Marina, from which my artist name “INAMAR” is derived. I am a music producer and DJ, originally from Zurich. I now reside in Lugano, where I also have my music studio. I am half Swiss and half Spanish. Music is my greatest passion.
How did you get into electronic music production? What or who were your inspirations?
I discovered my love for electronic music on a trip to Ibiza, where I found myself standing at Ushuaia, and it hit me like a lightning bolt. That’s when I knew: I wanted to make music too. I flew back home, downloaded Logic, and taught myself everything through YouTube tutorials and books. Since then, I can’t imagine life without music, it’s an addiction, a good one 😉 Various artists inspired me, and growing up, music was always playing at home. My parents are big fans of electronic music too.
Growing up with a Spanish mother and Swiss father, how has your cultural background influenced your approach to creating music?
My cultural background strongly influences my music, blending Spanish passion with Swiss precision in my tracks.
Ibiza has had a tremendous influence on my production. The energy, creativity, and diversity of the music scene there have greatly shaped my work.
You’re about to drop your new single ‘Dolce Vita’ on Sirup Music. Can you talk to us about this release and what the process was like and how you came to release it on Sirup?
Crafting “Dolce Vita” in my studio, surrounded by the Swiss Italian landscape, was amazing. The view of Mount San Salvatore, palm trees, and sunlight inspired the track’s name. Composing its lyrics and melody on my piano, I felt an electric vibe I aim to share. Inspired by my love for the Italian way of life, the track embodies joy and liveliness. The process of releasing my new single “Dolce Vita” with Sirup Music has been exciting. They embody quality and innovation. I am thrilled to partner with Switzerland’s leading dance music label.

Last year you released ‘Free Spirit’ on Pretty Pink’s label Deep Woods. What did that release mean to you and how was it received by your fans and the dance music world?
The release on “Deep Woods” was a significant milestone for me. Pretty Pink has been a major inspiration, and the opportunity to release on her label filled me with joy and gratitude. It was an honor to collaborate with a label that had such a strong influence on my musical journey. The response to ‘Free Spirit’ reaffirmed my commitment to following my instincts and creating music that electrifies and inspires people.
Winning the ‘Change The Beat’ remix contest for Eli & Fur’s ‘Better In the Dark’ on Anjunadeep was a significant achievement in your career. Can you walk us through your creative process in reimagining beats and setting new standards for this remix?
Winning the contest was a great honor for me. It also fills me with extreme pride as it reaffirms that I am on the right path as a producer. “Better In the Dark” by Eli & Fur was already an amazing track, and my goal was to create a new vibe. I experimented with different rhythms and melodies to craft a new interpretation that retained the essence of the original while infusing my personal artistic signature. It was a fantastic experience that expanded my production skills and artistic growth.
As a Swiss producer, artist, and DJ, how do you see the electronic music scene evolving in Switzerland? Are there particular trends or developments that excite you about the local music scene?
I see the electronic music scene in Switzerland constantly evolving. We now have many female DJs and producers in Switzerland, which delights me greatly. Furthermore, I am particularly thrilled by the increasing integration of various music genres and cultural influences into electronic music. I am already looking forward to playing at Street Parade, the world’s largest techno party in Zürich. This is a special event for me every year.
What challenges have you faced in your music production journey, and how have you overcome them? Any advice for aspiring producers who might be facing similar challenges?
On my music production journey, I’ve encountered many challenges, such as learning technical skills and finding my own musical style. To overcome these hurdles, I’ve continuously strived for improvement and remained focused on my goals and dreams. I had to learn to listen to myself and trust my inner instinct. My advice for aspiring producers is to believe in yourself and your talents, and miracles will come. Be patient, continuously learn, and don’t be discouraged by setbacks.
How do you approach collaboration with other artists, and do you have any dream collaborations in mind for the future?
It would be a dream to collaborate with artists who share my musical vision and inspire me. I believe that such collaborations offer the opportunity to explore new creative horizons and create unique musical experiences. A collaboration with Pretty Pink would be cool.
Looking ahead, what are your goals and aspirations for your music career? Are there specific projects or milestones you are aiming to achieve in the near future?
I aspire to deepen my artistic visions. I’m planning new projects and would love to collaborate with various artists on new music. My biggest dream is to perform at Tomorrowland.
