RUSKAR is a fresh-faced talent who is about to take the Afro house world by storm with his new EP on Sol Selectas which is a record label run by Sabo.
Hailing from São Paulo in Brazil, RUSKAR has previously worked with only a handful of labels including Nature Recordings, iM Electronica and Brazuka Music. This EP titled ‘Amazônia’ is his first time working with Sol Selectas and it features two of his original tracks.
There isn’t a lot of background on RUSKAR with him being such a new talent, but the fact he has been picked up by a label as prestigious as Sol Selectas, shows the level of his talent when it comes to making music.
Sol Selectas is a leading organic house imprint that is also a respected outlet for Afro house due to the two genres having a large crossover within their sound and fanbase.
First up is the release’s title track “Amazônia” with its throbbing bassline and atmospheric sounds that appear like they have been inspired by the Brazilian rainforest, and features synths that rise and fall in a way that add tension to the upbeat energy of the percussion.
Second of the two tracks on the release, “Resistência” shares the same upbeat vibe as its predecessor on the EP. It’s got psychedelic undertones created by vocal chants and trippy synth sounds that lead to an epic breakdown section where the track reaches a crescendo before the drums once again take control.
