Kamai Music drops a new EP by Niki Sadeki who is a Canadian DJ and producer that is internationally respected for having a deep and melodic style with organic textures.
This latest release is a little more electronic than some might expect as this time round the sound pallet focuses on synthesisers and drum samples. It still has deep atmosphere and intricate melodies that are true to her usual sound.
Also on the release is a remix by Holland’s El Mundo who shares a similar sound to Niki Sadeki and along with their friend Zazou, the three of them run a record label called, Quetame. El Mundo is also known for his releases on other record labels such as Crosstown Rebels and Café Del Mar Music.
“Going on to Glory” opens the release with techy percussion and flickers of melody that are combined with tense synth pads. “March of the Living” has liquid textures and twinkling synths that are joined by modulating synth stabs. “One Lane Bridge” has digitised synth pop and a pulsating bassline layered with the whirling melodies of trippy synths to create an uplifting groove. El Mundo’s remix of Going to Glory brings the release a close and it’s an atmospheric version with an added synth in the breakdown, while stripping back some of the original’s sounds.
