Out now, is a three-track Afro house EP made by Darksidevinyl and Kiberu whose tracks blend powerful percussive rhythms with the uplifting energy of melodic synth progressions.
Darksidevinyl and Kiberu are both solo producers who are teaming up for the first time, and their three collaborative tracks showcase a high standard of production.
Titled the ‘Henaia’ EP, the release comes via the Earthly Delights record label which is a respected outlet for organic house and its associated sub-genres.
Kiberu is a Swiss artist from Zürich who is a talented DJ and has also proven himself to be an equally skilled producer that has worked with labels like Systematic and Renaissance Records.
Darksidevinyl is an Egyptian artist who currently lives in the Austrian city of Vienna, he is a respected DJ and a prolific producer who has released music via record labels such as MoBlack, Selador, Yoshitoshi, Akbal Music and Go Deeva Records.
First up is “Catava” which has congas and steel drums layered with shuffling high-end percussion to form a framework that’s underpinned by deep dub bass tones and a pulsating lead synth. Its dramatic breakdown sections are the track’s defining feature, as it has pitched horn stabs washed in trippy effects.
“Zulu” is the EP’s second track and its defining moments come from the sparse use of a tribal chant that signifies the end of a drop, just before the percussion takes hold again.
“Henaia” brings the release to a close with the interstellar atmosphere provided by the epic synths. The mid-section also introduces complementing piano chords that add further melody to this expansive track.
