trueColors is a record label that champions atmospheric deep house that’s rich with melody.

The label’s latest offering is a majestic release that includes new remixes of tracks by Timujin. Included in this remix package are reworks be YokoO, Francesco Mami, Inámo, Roi Okev and Wild Dark.

Featuring a total of six tracks, YokoO and Francesco Mami collaborate on their remix, while Roi Okev and Wild Dark provide two versions each, and Inámo flies solo with his single rework.

Although none of the original versions are included on the release, we did take the time to check them out so it was possible to draw comparisons with the remixes.

“Himalayan Way” is the track remixed by YokoO and Francesco Mami who have transformed the tribal drums of the original into a slick version with dubby synths and deep atmosphere. The pair are both well-known for their works on highly regarded labels such as All Day I Dream and Watergate Records.

Inámo is a regular on trueColors and he remixes the epic synth pads and dramatic percussion of “Full of Courage” into a subdued version with smooth atmosphere and charismatic tribal percussion. Wild Dark of other imprints such as Anjunadeep, also add their stamp to this track and they add hypnotic synths with ceremonial vocals to their up-tempo version.

Wild Dark’s second remix is of “Breaking Through the Fog” where they swap the Arabic sitar of the original with their own chugging, groove-filled, shuffling, percussion shakers and tenson building synths.

Roi Okev provides two alternative versions of “High Scheherezade” where he swaps the original’s psychedelia with haunting melodies and ethereal textures. He has also done a more stripped back edit with a delicate piano melody and even deeper atmosphere with mystic vocals.
