Jaffna, the melodic Deep-House duo formed by Bravin and Stan, is releasing its first album four years after their debut EP Ripples in 2017. This has garnered over 9 million plays on Spotify. This EP and their music videos have been regularly supported by DJ Mag, Konbini, Les Inrockuptibles in France, alongside the BBC in the UK, Tonspion from Germany and the influential American blogs such as Earmilk or Dancing Astronauts.

Odyssey is a sonic travel diary, going from Sri Lanka (“Roots”, “Bhairavi”), to Germany (“Sturm und Drang”) through London (“Hackney Boy”, “You Got Together”, ” Rival “, Manifest”) with stops in Norway (“Oslo”) and of course their home town of Paris (“Headlines” or “Outro”). These last two deal in more detail with the due’s Parisian life. Their subtle and airy mix of melodic Deep-House tinged with occasional forays into Indian vocal harmonies is a gentle immersion in a very singular universe.

Jaffna is to be classified between Rone, Bicep, Ross from Friends, French 79 or N’To. Rediscovering somewhat the minimalism of the duo’s early career, Odyssey surprises us with aerial melodies in duality with a melodic Future Garage / House rhythm.
