Sweden has been blessed with another electronic festival that focused on House & Techno music.

WHY NOT festival is the latest creation by the people behind the award winning underground club Mythos and the festival Secret Island Nation.

Located in the city centre of Gothenburg WHY NOT will transform an old banana terminal to a two-day festival bringing some big names like Magda, Carl Craig, Dr Motte the founder of Love Parade. The Watergate resident La Fleur and our own Josefine Hellström Hansson. Together with rising Swedish talents Mount Liberation Unlimited, Sandra Mosh and Joel Alter who recently played at our Backyard Stories event.

The festival aims to have a majority of female acts to highlight the inequality of female acts within the underground scene. Working with Musikverkets Jämndställdhetsprojekten they will have a panel discussion lead by the music journalist Mats Almegård (Elektroniskt i P2) will host a long Gram[m]ofon artist talk to discuss what can be done to have better equality in the scene.
