Londoner Joe Attard & Swede David Andersson are the two-likeminded opposites that make up PJU.
PJU (formerly Punks Jump Up) formed in London during the mid 00’s sharing a mutual love for dance music, cutting edge culture & style. They organised their own parties and DJ’d all around London before setting up their first vinyl only label, ‘Cassette Records’ and released a handful of 12”s, one being their debut 12” “Be You (Beep Beep)”. It received great reactions from BBC Radio 1 DJs like Annie Mac & Chris Coco and was played by artists like Andy Weatherall & James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem).
In 2015 PJU launched their own label Muzik Box which has of date released 8 EPs by artists like Monday Club, Dan Solo & Future Feelings, Monkeycat (aka Mason), Alex Mallios and more.
During all this time Punks Jump Up have also been touring heavily & going to pretty much every country in Europe & also USA, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, China, Singapore & Jakarta including lots of tours for the Kitsune label out of Paris.
Touring aside, Joe & David have spent most of the last year working on new PJU releases, the new one coming up is the track “Coming Back” feat the very talented vocalist Javi out of Brooklyn, New York and released with Hoxton based label ‘Perfect Havoc’.
The single, has everything you’d want in a summer banger. Funky vocals, a bouncy throwback bassline and groove in bucket loads.
Coming Back Feat. Javi is released on June 17th 2016 and available to pre-order from iTunes now: http://apple.co/1PErSGV
