Parker + Barrow take War’s Low Rider for a spin

All my friends know the low rider… Sang War in the 1975 Billboard No.1. The funk band’s seminal hit has been used in a dozen movies, including the Cheech & Chong classic, ‘Up In Smoke‘ and covered by artists from George Clinton to Korn.

This time, it’s the turn of Parker + Barrow to take the track for a spin, comprised of Swedish native and former Forever Kid member, Joakim Bjarke, and Los Angeles born and bred video artist and former turntablist, Caity Croft.

The track retains a driving bassline like the original, but ditches the funk sax for some lovely Balearic arps. Caity’s sultry vocals hover beautifully over the production and remind of Róisín Murphy on some of the Moloko classics.

A really solid start from Parker + Barrow that make the track a must for your sunrise playlists and sets and the duo a definite one to watch.
