Dave Clarke is an English techno DJ and producer. Already at an early age of 8 he realized music was the only thing he wanted to work with. Dave started his career as a Hip-Hop DJ in the 80s but later shifted to play and produce Acid House. In the end of the decade Dave was more into Rave music and he released tracks on XL Recordings and R&S Records. In the middle of the 90s Dave redirected to Techno music where he has made a very successful career both as a DJ and as a producer. The music he produce often has an old school techno beat such as ‘Southside’ released in 1996 on Decronstruction, ‘Compass’ released in 2000 on Skint and ‘The wolf’ released in 2002 also on Skint. On Bush recordings Dave released in 1995 ‘The Storm’ which last year was revived by L.A.W. who released a remix version on CLR.
Dave took a pause as a producer for more than seven years but in 2013 he was back in the game again. Together with Jonas Uittenbosch (aka Mr. Jones) he started a producer duo called Unsubscribe who in 2013 released their debut track ‘Spek hondje’ on Houndstooth.
Dave Clarke is a very popular and well-booked artist known for his exceptional connection to his crowd while he’s playing. No wonder that he has played almost all over the world at well reputed clubs and festivals such as Berghain, Razzmatazz, fabric, Monegros, Space, Tomorrowland, Tresor, Amsterdam Dance event and the list goes on (kinda forever). At Tomorrowland Dave even had his own stage named Dave Clarke Presents where he showcased artists such as Green Velvet, Chris Liebing, Jeff Mills and Ben Klock.
It might be a wild card to take your beloved one to Culture Box when Dave Clarke is playing on Valentine’s Day (unless your beloved one is Techno music). Dave will make sure that the music he plays will be the only thing on your mind and in your heart. Oh yes, there’s definitely a reason why Dave Clarke is called “The Baron of Techno”.
