CANVAS – are brothers, Andreas and Robin Schulz (not that Robin Schulz!) With a background in hardcore bands, sneakers and skateboards. Their collaboration is a departure from the US punk rock scene – an electronic and soulful project, with a sense of Scandinavian melancholy spread across every beat.
You may be familiar with their bootlegs for Seinabo Sey and Shura and official remixes for Jessie Ware (50 Shades of Grey) and Andreas Moe (Kitsuné Soleil Mix) helping to position their own sound.
Their first original release, You & Me pays homage to the future soul sound of London and L.A. while keeping its roots firmly planted on Swedish soil. Featuring Philip Strand, the gentle and yearning vocals spin a yarn of lost love. The soon to be familiar CANVAS production ties this together with driving bass, sweeping drums and tropical summertime synths a feeling often fleeting for a Swedish July.
