Culture Box serves us the perfect Christmas gift this year: Ben Klock!

We talked to Daniel Kaarill, manager/promoter at Culture Box, who answered some questions about the event:

HMWL: Ben Klock is coming to Culture Box for the second time this year. What are your idea behind that and how is it possible for Culture Box to book such a well-renowned artist twice in one year?

Culture Box: Ben first visited Culture Box for our six years birthday party, four years ago, this was also the night which launched our monthly coorperation with Ostgut Ton. Back then he played an all nighter, back to back with Marcel Dettmann. We’ve always aimed to make our artists feel very much at home, and this was no exception. The audience, as well as the staff loves him, and he’s always happy to be here. He wants to come back, and for him, as well as many other of the big names, playing to a small dedicated crowd, is a welcome opportunity after a summer of playing festivals for 5.000+ people at a time.

HMWL: Will Ben Klock play different this time compare to the last time?

Culture Box: You never know – When he was here in March, it was a Klockworks label night, showcasing his own imprint. Last year he set a Culture Box record, playing from midnight till way past 9 am. This time will be shorter, but definitely as intense. Ulf Eriksson, of Kontra-Musik in Malmö, will be warming up – another Culture Box favorite.

HMWL: What do Ben Klock think about Culture Box and its crowd?

Culture Box: As mentioned before, he really like it – Culture Box has always been known for a great atmosphere. Most of the Ostgut gang have been surprised after their first visit, “I could play anything, and they got it” is something we’ve often heard. A lot of artists make a special effort to come back, even though they obviously can get payed more playing larger venues.

HMWL: What can we expect for this event?

Culture Box: Culture Box at it’s best, really. A packed floor with a dedicated crowd and banging, high quality techno!
