It is fair to say that Renato Ratier is now well known around the world for his own great house, disco and tech production, as well as his legendary sets at D Edge in Brazil. Of course, Renato is owner of that club and is the tour de force that has made it, and the Brazilian scene, so strong in recent years. Followings debut album last year, and s et of remixes of it, comes this, volume two of the remix package with more great names.

Up first is the one and only UK talent that is Laura Jones, who turns Gueixastar into a deeply, bubbly and percussive tech number with a solid bassline. Next are tech house legends MANDY who offer a weird, tripped out take on 3 Bulls that will sound great in the late night hours. It’s musical and organic as well as left of centre and pleasingly synthetic.

Then comes a version of Black Belt by Boris Werner, and the result is a moody, seductive and deep bit of hose music with freaky voices and spiritual pads. For his part, Anderson Noise, a well known Brazilian producer with lots of credits to his name, decides to go dark on Fetisshu with its chattery claps and alien sound designs.

Highlights of the latter half of this great collection of DJ ready tools include a remix from Canada’s minimal man Mike Shannon, as well as an offering from Trouw resident and Amsterdam scene leader Nuno Dos Santos. It’s stripped back, groovy and is laced up with some lovely piano notes and spacey chords. Kate Simko, the Chicago house heiress, then gets all supple, rubbery and oddly funked out on her take on Kozaboa and Ryan Croson closes out in fine style with a lush ambient remix. Once again this is an essential package, then.
