Palette Recordings label started by John Tejada back in 1996 keeps it going stronger than ever. Label’s newest signing is a talented Scandinavian, originally from Aaland Islands in Finland, Daniel Troberg. Daniel started dabbling in computers 30 years ago and also producing music influenced by equal doses of Chicago house music, German prototype techno and Finnish minimalism. DJ, producer, radio show host, promoter and technical savvy, Daniel’s work manifested into a leading role at Swedish / LA based – Elektron Music Machines, where Daniel currently holds a CEO position.
The EP consist of four tracks – two dancefloor friendly ones and two somewhat more experimental. The title track Bolivia is available here for free download. The second track m3ltfac3 was made as an experiment trying to make one Elektron Monomachine synthesizer to speak in a more human way. The biggest thing I have ever seen was originally made for a short film by Swedish video maker Sarah Schmidt in 2008. Finally the EP is wrapped up with a nice, bouncy and somewhat progressive remix by the label boss, John Tejada himself. It sounds and tastes just like a fresh Bolivian coffee on BPM festival morning. Out on february 25th.
