Cari Lekebusch [KB18, Copenhagen, February 21st]

Cari-Lekebusch

Cari Lekebusch (real name Kari Pekka Lekebusch) is a Swedish electronic music producer and DJ. Music has always been a big part of Caris life and he grew up listening to his parent’s music by artists like James Brown and Kraftwerk. In Caris earlier music career he was drawn towards hip hop, not only the music but also the art and the lifestyle that surrounded it. After some time he discovered electronic music and he started to collect vinyls with house and techno music from different styles and areas such as Chicago, New York and Detroit. With a need to learn how to do, instead of just observe, Cari started to produce music and DJing.

In the year of 1994 Cari made his first release, the acid techno track Output 1, on his own label Hybrid Sound Architectures, later renamed (due to a legal twist) H-productions. The label has developed during the years and constantly continues to release high quality techno tracks from artists like Alan Fitzpatrick, Nima Khak, Joseph Capriati and Marco Bailey. Cari has collaborated with Adam Beyer, Jesper Dahlbäck and Joel Mull and he has released tracks on renowned labels such as Drumcode, Code Red, Truesoul and 8 Sided Dice.

Cari is known for being a pioneer in the Swedish techno tradition and a true sound architect. He continues to produce exciting and interesting music and deliver fantastic set at clubs and festivals all over the world. Cari is one of those artists that always feels fresh and even though he already can look back at a very long and successful career he stays hungry for more. It truly will be a real delight to see and hear Cari in action at KB18 in Copenhagen!
