This time with a hopefully melancholic anthem called On&On&On&On/Missive. The London-based producer used to be a boxer and play bass in Vampire Weekend. Now he makes house music from the heart. It is playful and mischievous, but with a sad undertone. Bouncy bass and sampled kids seems like a trade mark, and it is nicely wrapped in pointy melodies and irregular hi hats and snares. It is irritating and beautiful. Like kids often are.
The remix by our very own favorite HNNY is warmer, softer and a little less lively, but with great atmosphere. Neville Watson on the other hand puts a club feel to Missive and gave it deep drums and straight kicks. EP is due 29th of September and Chris Baio has this time moved from Future Classic to Club Mod, a new branch of the Modular Recordings family. Give it a listen!
