Len Faki, actual name Levent Faki, is a techno DJ and music producer from Germany. When you read about Len Faki, listen to him or see him in action, you can really feel his dedication for techno music. Len once, in an interview for I Love Techno, described techno as “The opposite of mainstream, a unique lifestyle, honesty, Berghain”.
Len grew up in Stuttgart and started DJing in the 90’s but at that time it was punk and heavy metal he played. One day he went to a club with acid/techno music and he fell instantly in love and since then techno has always been his genre of choice both as a DJ and as a producer. After Lens home was severe damaged 2003 by a fire he dared to take the step of moving to Berlin and really focus on a career as a DJ and producer. Len started to play at the club Ostgut, 100m from where Berghain is located today. After a year Ostgut closed and instead the owner opened up Berghain where Len Faki became one of the first residents.
Len Faki has during the years released some true classic techno tracks such as ‘BX 3 (original mix)’ on Ostgut Ton and, together with Johannes Heil, ‘The Octopus (original mix)’ in 2013 on his own label Figure. Len Faki is also very famous for his remixing work for example on Alan Fitzpatricks and Adam Beyers ‘Human Reason (Len Faki remix)’, released in early 2013 on Drumcode. Len Faki run two more labels named Podium and Figure SPC.
This year Len Faki has played at almost every big festival which shows how popular he is. For naming some: Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Monegros, Amsterdam Dance Event, I Love Techno etcetera. If that wasn’t enough he has also find the time to play at clubs all over the world. Now Mr Berghain himself comes to Culture box. What a great Christmas present that is!
