Tandem Sky is the swedish super duo consisting of producer Mikael Nordgren (of Tiger Stripes fame) and Weeping Willows singer Magnus Carlson. In may 2013 they released their self titled debute album, and now it’s time for the remix package to hit the shelves. All the remixes have been commisioned by the band themselves, and it’s a broad mix of styles bound to please most fans of electronic dance music.
Spanish producer Edu Imbernon is first up and delivers a dark and downhearted tech house gem in his remix of ”Leaving with me” while Sonic Boom (aka Peter Kember from the alternative rock band Spacemen 3) throws out a fast paced and somewhat crazy alternative version of the track ”Down”.
Next up on remix duty, with two versions of the track ”Victoria”, is the legendary Hacienda dj Jon Dasilva together with production partner Jonas Nilsson. The first one is a beautiful tech house pearl with moody pads and atmospheric vocals, while their Blessed Bowery-remix takes on a more indie/shoegaze vibe with filtered vocals and lush melodies.
Last, but not least, is the swedish techno legend Jesper Dahlbäck with an old school sounding remix of ”New Dawn”. It’s stripped down and very basic, but should appeal to fans of the classic techno sound.
All in all a solid remix package with mixes ranging from dark and dirty to melodic and sleek.
Official release is august the 26th on Soundz Limited.
