All the way from far east, the South Korea. From Seoul, the city of rising sun hail the two deep house producers Eastmask and Mang Esilo who together work under moniker Rust & Dust. The mix is a smooth melodic trip that will keep you warm and happy for a bit over an hour. The first track is a prieview of Rust & Dust upcoming EP.

HMWL: Tell us the story behind Rust & Dust. One of you is based in Berlin and the other one in Seoul?
Rust and Dust: EASTMASK & MANG ESILO has joined force as Rust & Dust. We’ve met one of rare underground house event in Seoul(South Korea). It was so sudden that both of us liked sound of each other at the spot. Even it was quite instant decision both felt strongly bonded and found similar taste. We’ve been working very closely since then talking about music, scene, life, etc.

For location, both traveled worldwide a lot when they were solo. (Sonar, WMC, C/O POP festival, Global Gathering, etc.).
At the moment Rust & Dust is located in Seoul/Korea, but they occasionally tour globally.

HMWL:You are both producing long since as solo projects Eastmask and Mang Esilo. Tell us about your previous works and musical influences?
Rust and Dust: Both of our works have their own color. Mang Esilo has his unique sound and way of express, recently released his EP “Path” album. EASTMASK has been recently spotted globally with his recent track called “Eirene” and was honorably supported by Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Maya Jane Coles, Tube & Berger, Miguel Alcobia, Gui Boratto, Noir, Art Department, Soul Clap and many more.

Our musical influential artists are Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Tale of Us, Mario Basanov, Dixon and more! (can’t list them all). But for future work, we are solely focusing on Rust & Dust right now.

HMWL: What is the aim of R&D project? Is there a certain sound or art form you are willing to achive?
Rust and Dust: We have 2 major aims for this project. One would be musical aspect and Asia underground scene development. For musical or sound aspect we would like to call our music as “Deep Melancholic House” . It is to bring our emotion into music and share our story.

For scene aspect. There is a underground house event project that we mostly spend our time and passion which is called “Hungry For Taste : www.facebook.com/hungryfortaste
It has been spotted from many house lovers who are from all over the world. Most of “Hungry For Taste” event will be video recorded and posted via Youtube. So if you are interested in what asian artists like, it will be worth checking out.

HMWL: Tell us about you studio setup? Hardware, Software, Favorite plugins?
Rust and Dust: No limit and boundaries, we use whatever it makes noise. Now we are into UAD hardware as well as plug-ins.
