The Canadian producer Gavin Froome is one of those rare DJs who like to integrate an improvised live drum or instrument in his DJ performances. This clearly comes out in his very non-static sounds and rhythms. His track Malibu from 1999 always puts me in this wonderful dream state. The light exotics of the xylophone meets this funky but layed back bass line and they just fly like along the beaches of Florida. I never get tired of this sound.
