HMWL 37 – DJ Pierre (Afro Acid Project / Trax Records) by HMWL / WMWL

Podcast number 37 is a bit of a milestone we are especially proud of. The legendary Trax Records label is about to celebrate their 25th anniversary this october. The label that back in the mid-80s shaped the sound of Chicago house, featured the releases by Larry Heard, Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson and DJ Pierre – all of them still active, living-legend DJs today.

Coming from the suburbs of Chicago and emerging onto the journey of a house music producer back in 1986 Nathaniel Pierre Jones has produced over 50 tracks, albums and EPs. As a solo project as well as under constellations and aliases as Phuture, Photon Inc, Aly Us and Phuture Phantasy Club (with Felix Da Housecat). Pierre is dubbed the founder of Acid house and been constantly forming and inspiring the house music scene from back in 1987 (with Acid Tracks release) until today. He still plays on weekly basis, mostly in Europe rather than in US.

Above it all, this friday Dj Pierre is coming to Malmö with his Afro Acid project. (with a little help from his friends WMWL). Make sure to watch our facebook closely as we will be giving away two tickets for this lovely event.
