Introducing: Moonrise Hill Material – MHM001 out early summer [France]

Moonrise Hill Material 001

The French do it better. At least when it comes to tasteful boutique house music labels popping up here and there across the country. Moonrise Hill Material is not an exception. Run by four producer friends Folamour, Ethyène, Kaffe Crème and Okwa, the label focuses on poetic house, rare samples and the concept of music journey.

First out is MHM001 coming on vinyl and digital early summer. With one track each from the four founding producers the records is a true music journey indeed. Folamour – Fucked Up Jazzmen is all about jazz groove, with old school jazz guitars and improvised percussion beautifully playing together with four by four kick and bass. Kaffe Crème – Jack My Sista’ is the track with that perfect bass patteren, nice atmospheric groove and a magic cosmic break, perfect for sunday afternoons and open airs. Ethyène – Manhattune takes us back to the roots of disco and soul in a very french way. Last out on is Okwa – Cosmic Spirals for some serious dancefloor movement.

The sample nerd will surely recognize “Bobbi Humphrey – The Good Life” on Ethyène‘s Mahnhattune and “Riz Ortolani – Serena e Lumunno” and “Monk Higgins – One Man Band” on Folamour’s Fucked Up Jazzmen. A must have for any house or disco lover.
