HMWL Premiere: Fluida – Technicolour [Southern Fried Recs September 25]

Fluida - Blue Spiral EP

Is tropical the new techno? I definitely think so even if the underground tropical sound for sure differs from the radio one. Fluida, a somewhat mystical UK duo who prefer to stay anonymous are releasing their new Blue Spiral EP on London based Souther Fried Recs. I love the EP but especially fond of the Technicolour, the most playful and pleasant track built around a tin pot & marimba percussion and smooth pads making you dream yourself away to a Caribbean beach despite the autumn making a scene outside your window. Perfect DJ tool to prolong the summer vibes at least inside the nightclubs.

The EP includes three more tracks – Mellifluous, Everything and Everything (Dub). Mellifluous is a dark, bass- and percussion driven track with mysterious vocal reminding of Maceo Plex early works. It keeps building and building, perfect for creating a certain mood early in the DJ set.

Finally it all wrapped up with Everything. Another deep dive into a mystic, dark somewhat psychedelic soundscape, yet with a ray of summer heat shining through with additional warm pads coming in after the 4 minute break. The Dub is stripped down to just percussion, voxs and a sitar like (?) melody. I love it.
